Our Johannesburg desk trades refined gold, silver and platinum group metals with licensed producers, refiners and dealers under the Precious Metals Act 2005. The depth of the local banking and refining infrastructure lets us settle and deliver in size.

Platinum group metals
South Africa is where the business goes beyond gold. Platinum, palladium and rhodium from Bushveld producers are traded against the London and Zürich references and delivered to refiners, into vault or to industrial users. Refined metal from our other markets can be consolidated and marketed from here too.

We evaluate and hold interests in small and mid-scale gold operations, including tailings retreatment and the reworking of historic ground in Barberton and the Free State, where modern processing can recover what earlier operators left.
